Jon Hatamiya Jon Hatamiya

Trombonist, composer, and B.A.C. Endorsing Artist Jon Hatamiya is one of the most promising trombonists to come out of the Sacramento area and is rapidly making a name for himself on the New York Music scene. He was recognized in the August 1st, 2011 edition of Jet Magazine as the only trombonist on Wynton Marsalis’s list of “Who’s Got Next”, which highlighted the next generation of emerging jazz artists. Still early in his career, Jon has already performed with such artists as Dianne Reeves, James Moody, Seamus Blake, Dave Matthews Band, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, among others, and at venues such as Yoshi's SF and Oakland, the Jazz Standard in New York, the Monterey Jazz Festival, Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Staples Center.

Jon currently leads the NY-based fusion septet XD 7, the CA-based quintet Nice Young Men, as well as other small ensembles under his own name.

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
