Jonny Wickham is a bassist and composer from London. He has worked with critically acclaimed world music ensembles such as Caravela, Waaju, Juanita Euka, and Samba Azul. Jazz artists Burnheart, Alex Western King, Ian Shaw and The London Jazz Orchestra. Singer songwriters Ellie Dixon, Rosie Frater Taylor, Cherise and Jordan Rakei. Terra Boa - his first album as a band leader is a self-professed love letter to to the sprawling rhythmic traditions of Brazil. A record handled with deep musical sensitivity and knowledge, it embraces tradition & lineage whilst forging its own unique path through the lens of contemporary jazz and improvised music.
