Jordan Klemons

The Jordan Klemons Trio is a guitar led, instrumental group whose influences catastrophically destroy any semblance of categorization. While they choose to label themselves as a modern jazz-fusion trio, this is an oversimplification - a framework within which the true colors of their sonic painting fill the blank, white canvas of silence. Within the context of jazz, The Jordan Klemons Trio employs the dance between composition and improvisation to take their audience on a musical exploration, with influences ranging from straight- ahead jazz to funk, Americana to drum ‘n bass, Afro beat to the blues, prog rock to Reggae, and more. Never forced or contrived, the influences intermingle in a natural, unique, and genuine way, presenting a trio whose talent and musicianship can only be overshadowed by their sincere and heartfelt love for creativity and musical expression.

As the leader and main musical contributor, Jordan Klemons is an avid composer, performer, and educator. While he is the youngest member of the group, his deep passion for music and his dedication to the craft have brought him to play all over the country, including such notable venues as Bonnaroo, The Joshua Tree Music Festival, The Echo Project, and TEDx.

Supporting Klemons are bassist Ron Brendle and drummer Curtis Wingfield. Between these two veterans are decades of composing, recording, and international touring experience. The list of musicians they have worked with is a rolodex of the finest players in the world - Tal Farlow, Mose Allison, Emily Remler, Herb Ellis, Charlie Byrd, Barney Kessel, Andrew Hill, Chico Hamilton, Chris Potter, Nnenna Freelon, Bucky Pizzarelli, Clark Terry, Cyrus Chestnut, Jeff Sipe, The Other People, and Gongzilla...just to name a few.

With the upcoming release of New Road, their debut album, The Jordan Klemons Trio is a new, creative and inspiring force on the jazz scene.
