Joy Massie

"We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams...."

Music has always been an integral part of this vocalist's life. It was said that at her birth, the physician that delivered her told her parents that her cry sounded like music. Even if this statement weren't true, that's a helluva way to announce her entry into the world.

Joy is an up and coming jazz vocalist, citing such influences as Jaco Pastorius, Joni Mitchell, Weather Report, Al Jarreau, Marvin Gaye, Chaka Khan, Emily King, Sade and most notably, her late father, Harry L. Tribbitt, Sr. Her styling is wrought with Afro-Cuban musings and slight glimpses into Bossa Nova, with smidgens of funk, soul, gospel and R&B.

Definitely an interesting mix.......
