Kathy Roberts

Kathy Roberts was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. and is a much sought after vocalist with a rich contralto voice. After singing with local bands as a teenager she landed a position as background singer for Philadelphia's own Billy Paul during her early 20's. While performing with Billy Paul she often joined him onstage and sang duets with him which were very well received by his audiences. She also enjoyed a brief association with Stevie Wonder before unexpectedly starting her family. While raising her family Kathy restarted her singing career as lead singer for several big bands in the Philadelphia area. During the 1990's she toured the Delaware Valley with the Nate Davenport Orchestra starring in his production of "Billie Holiday Your Music Lives On" which enjoyed a run of several years success and rave reviews. After falling in love with the warm and welcoming arms of the south Kathy Roberts relocated to Columbus GA where she continued to make a name for herself performing at local venues and private affairs where she opened for the King of the Blues BB King in 2012. However, she realizes that there's no place like home and she also sings all around the Philadelphia Area and has worked with many well-known Philly musicians such as the late great Eddie Green (extensively), Jim Miller, Tyrone Brown, Bootsy Barnes, Louis Taylor, Warren Oree, Robert Landham, Barry Sames, Jeff Knoettner, Tim Ferguson, Rich Budesa, Monette Sudler and many more. Kathy Roberts has graced the stages of many Philadelphia venues such as Zanzabar Blue, Relish, The Woodmere Museum, The Philadelphia Museum Of Art, The Clef Club, Platinum Grille, Doubletree Hotel, Waldorf Hotel, private affairs, etc. and she has also produced her own shows including "The Vocal Stylings Of Phyllis Hyman" to rave reviews and many accolades at The Society Hill Playhouse and Philadelphia Freedom Theater with write-ups in The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily Newspapers.

She recently released a CD entitled "Leap Of Faith" which is comprised of her original compositions. Kathy performed a few of her original works at a recent Clef Club concert and received standing ovations.

Kathy Roberts has also been a member of music organizations such as "One Voice" in Philadelphia and The Columbus Jazz Society in Columbus, GA where she held the position as Treasurer for a number of years aside from performing. Kathy has an extensive musical career in the Philadelphia area and beyond.
