Kelsey Jillette Kelsey Jillette

STYLE: jazz, pop, folk.

Kelsey Jillette sings jazz and jazz-infused folk, funk and world music. Rooted in the classic jazz tradition, Jillette's taste ranges from Latin traditional to country, folk-pop to funk, hard swing to mellow groove. Whether singing in English, Spanish or Portuguese, her sound is intimate and soulful. “The Kelsey Jillette Group is not simply a backing band for a talented vocalist,” (JAZZ.COM) but a gifted and generous group of players who seek to reach aficionados and new listeners alike.

Born in Washington, D.C., Kelsey Jillette holds degrees in Theater Arts (Brown University) and Jazz Performance (New School University). Based in NYC, she leads The Kelsey Jillette Group, an organ quintet, and fronts the 10-piece Big Bang Big Band, a classic dance orchestra. Her most recent record, The Water is Wide released on Consolidated Artists Productions (CAP 1016) in January of 2009.

”Your singing is wonderful! Absolutely! Unique, lyrical, individual. Believe you’re the best female vocalist I’ve heard in a long time. “

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
