Rasmus Kjærsgaard - Saxophones Thomas Fryland - Trumpet Graig Earle - Bass Carsten Landors - Drums

Saxophonist Rasmus Kjærsgaard has been fascinated by the James Bond films and their music since long before Jazz became the love of his life.

Inspired by the fierce swing and humorous undertones of tenor saxophonist and bodybuilder Sonny Rollins’ musical style in the 1950’s, (when he recorded music from westerns, comedies, etc), Kjærsgaard has allied himself with trumpeter Thomas Fryland, Canadian bassist Graig Earle and drummer Carsten Landors to present classic Bond music with a contemporary jazz aesthetic.

When Monty Norman and John Berry presented the first musical tones of Dr. No in 1962, it was clear that both movie and music history was made. It is music, which like the films exudes atmosphere, style and playfulness; music that has maintained its own immediately recognizable sound for 40 years while simultaneously managing to incorporate and interact with the dominant music of the present.
