Utilizing compositional inspiration from Jazz, Latin Jazz, Pop, Bossa Nova, and other contemporary styles, this Argentinian artist now residing in Orange County, CA, creates an eclectic fusion of international sounds. Laura’s voice is often described as delicate, smooth and soulful and she sings in six different languages besides English and her native Spanish. Her natural and inviting delivery has charmed audiences since the start of her career in Argentina and then in Europe where she toured with Tango and Latin Jazz Bands during the late 90’s.
Laura spent her early years intensely involved in the cultural life of Buenos Aires performing theatre and singing, then moved to Europe and toured with several bands while studying music in Switzerland. After graduating from the Music Academy of Basel in Switzerland, she moved to southern California in 2002 and formed her Latin jazz band, featuring Juan Pedro Estanga, Paul Perez, and John Chiodini. Traveling back to her native Buenos Aires, Laura regularly performs and records with producers Juan Estanga and Juan Pablo Lazo. From this collaborative effort, “Perlas”, Laura’s debut album created in 2007, is a rousing mix of Flamenco, Jazz, Tango, and Folkloric-inspired songs.
Since she moved to California she has been performing in numerous jazz clubs, large events such as the “Tango Cinema” at the Museum of Latin American Art Long Beach, “Tangos y Huaynos” at the Ford Amphitheater Los Angeles 2012, the IV C Gardel Tango Festival, Los Angeles 2005, Make Music Pasadena 2013 to name a few.
