Liz Cass is an exciting young vocalist emerging on the London Jazz scene. It is not only for her stunning looks and velvety vocals, but her unique and captivating performance style. Inspired by movies and old-style glamour, she brings something new and special to her repertoire of classic Jazz songs.
Liz has been performing jazz for over four years in the UK and abroad. Her start in music was co-writing and recording pop, collaborating with various London producers, but her interest in Jazz lured her away, and in 2004 she left for Sydney, and on arrival began networking and meeting musicians with the hope of kick-starting a Jazz career. She did just that, and within a couple of weeks had a string of gigs, a quintet made up of Sydney's top musicians, and before her return to London three months later, she had recorded her first Jazz CD. The years that followed have seen Liz go from strength to strength. She has been a regular at Pizza Express Jazz Club and Pizza On The Park, constantly selling them out, enjoyed a two year residency at Smollenky's On The Strand, and headlined at such high-profile events as 'The West End At War' and 'The West End Live' festivals, and the Regent Street Festival in London. In 2006 Liz was invited to perform two concerts with the Brass Group, in Palermo, Sicily, to mark to beginning of the Jazz Season at the famed Blue Brass Jazz Club. This was a huge honour for Liz as their previous guests have included Sarah Vaughan and Chet Baker - her Jazz idols. She has since performed at many high-profile private events, such as film parties at the Festival De Cannes, the Think Ball, compared by Sir Trevor McDonald, Music Week Awards pre-party, and several awards ceremonies at the Royal Albert Hall.
