Louis Apollon

"Louis Apollon has an angelic, magical quality to his voice. It’s the kind of voice that makes you just want to relax, sit and listen forever. Hearing him sing is a healing. I’ve been in the music biz for a long time and I am convinced that Louis has a really special gift that will one day carry him to stardom. If you haven’t heard him, I urge you to run, don’t walk, to see him and buy his recordings so that one day you can say that you were a fan before he became a star.” ~ Janice Pendarvis - Singer, College Professor, Activist

Louis Apollon is a Boston-based Jazz-Folk Singer-Songwriter whose stories celebrate human imperfection, combining uplifting musicality with a soothing, yet energizing vibe that represents his own infectious positivity. Born and raised in the suburbs of New York City by parents of Haitian decent, he was exposed to many musical cultures from very young age. Music had always been something that sparked curiosity for him. From learning his way around his first instrument, the clarinet, to trying to imitate sounds coming from the radio, to breaking his father’s old record player trying to scratch old records. It was not uncommon to hear sounds from around the world on a daily basis, and those sounds influenced the music he makes today.

His professional career started in Chicago, IL where he worked in the advertising world after he received a Business Degree from University of Notre Dame. Though he remained in that business for four years he realized that he was constantly searching for and finding opportunities to perform musically on the side. Once coming to this realization, he decided that he really wanted to commit himself to music full time, so he put himself in position to do so by attending the Jazz Studies Program at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, OH.

He is primarily a vocalist and accompanies himself on guitar and is known to do solo, duo, and full band performances. Being heavily influenced by Jazz, Pop, World music, and acoustic styles, he brings a fresh perspective in how we listen to and feel music, and is always looking to use his work to positively impact the world and its listeners. Upon attending and graduating from the prestigious Berklee College of Music (Class of 2015), he released his first album , Free to Be, in September of 2017 which captures the essence of Apollon and his band in live performance.
