Marce Palos

MARCE PALOS Originally from Illinois, Marce Palos received his musical education in Chicago. He attended the Sherwood Music School and the University of Chicago from which he received a Bachelor Degree in Piano Performance. Subsequently, he went on to do graduate work at Northwestern University School of Music in piano performance and pedagogy. His fondness of classical music is only exceeded by his preference for jazz which affords him opportunities for creative improvisation and arranging. Mr. Palos is at ease in most any performance format, but prefers a trio or quartet ensemble. Over the years Marce has performed in many Florida clubs such as O’Hara’s, Jason’s, Boondocks, The Waterway Restaurant, T.G.I. Fridays (the first jazz band to ever play a T.G.I. Fridays restaurant), P.G. Doogies, Jazz Showcase, Thirty-Two East, and Legends just to name a few. The Marce Palos Trio were the resident musicians at the prestigious Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach for nine years. Music critic, Bob Brink, Palm Beach Post, wrote, “One of the most delightful jazz experiences to come along in years…”. Mr. Palos has done concert appearances at D.B. Beyer’s in Melbourne and Valentine’s in Orlando. He’s also appeared in the Eastern Illinois Jazz Festival, Knox College Jazz Fest, The Milwaukee Jazz Fest, The Bix Biderbecke Jazz Festival in Iowa and the Sunfest in West Palm Beach. Notable musicians Marce has worked with include guitarists Joe Pass and Jerry Bird; vocalists Al Jarreau, Edie Gorme, Ginnie Barrett; bassists Ron Pirtle, Bruce Freeland, Jaco Pastorius, Bob Mortenson; drummers Bill Alexander, Marty Campfield, Danny Berger, and the legendary Louie Bellson; sax players Paul Chafin, Jack Scott, Jimmy Cavallo; organist Dr. Lonnie Smith Marce in performance is easy to listen to and fun to watch. He plays not just to the people but for them as well. His musical style is honest, entertaining and stimulating. As a result, the arrangements and compositions epitomize a true jazz experience that audiences find most appealing.
