Marco Acquarelli

Born 1977, began with classical studies in 1990 and got his graduation in 2001, in 1999 he won a scolarship to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He's got plenty of good suggestions about jazz and music by some of the greatest like Barry Harris, Peter Bernstein, Mark Turner, Adam Rogers, Bill Pierce, Tuck Andress and Dominic Miller. He lives in Rome and perform as sideman and leader with some of the most interesting jazz musicians of both the new and the old generation like: Daniele Tittarelli, Daniele Mencarelli, Gabriele Mirabassi, Rossano Emili, Marco Valeri, Marco Loddo, Domenico Sanna, Vincenzo Florio, Fabio Morgera, JD Allen, Bill Smith, Marcello Rosa, Sandro Deidda, Francesco Puglisi, Luca Velotti, Claudio Corvini, Gegè Munari, Max Ionata. He works occasionally as recording session musician for TV and Cinema (Nicola Piovani "Il Grande Sogno" 2009, Germano Mazzocchetti "La Strada" 2008). He is one of the founders of Fonderia Delle Arti in Rome where he teaches. In his brief career he had the chance to perform in some of the most important jazz festival in Italy and Europe: Barga Jazz 2000, Jazz Hoeilaart 2001 (Bruxelles, Belgium), Jazz In Sardegna 2006, UmbriaJazz 2007/2008, Ascona Jazz Festival 2007, Radar Showcase 2007 (New Morning, Paris), “Young Lions” at Casa Del Jazz (Rome 2007), Young Jazz in Town 2007/2008 (Foligno), Gubbio No Borders 2008, Ischia Jazz Festival 2009
