Martin Myhre Olsen Martin Myhre Olsen

”This year's NTNU - AMBASSADØR is a saxophonist and composer from Leirsund, Akershus. He graduated from Jazzlinja NTNU in 2013 with an apprenticeship in composition in the same place. Together with the Megalodon Collective, he was a Gamesman nominee in 2015 and was named “Young Jazz Musician of the Year” in 2016. The candidate has been on Norway Tour with Trondheim Jazz Orchestra and Come Shine, who has played on Chick Corea's birthday party at Blue Note in New York. In addition, he is a rookie fresh winner of the year's Spellemannspris in jazz with the band Hegge. Since 2014 he has been the artistic director of MUST (Midtnorsk Ungdomsstorband) and has released the albums “Midtnorsk Ungdomsstorband & Young Voices”, plays the music of Martin Myhre Olsen (2016) and “New Beginnings” (2017). In May 2018 he is discreet with his project-based ensemble; MMO Ensemble and the work «Any Day Now». There is little doubt that this year's candidate is worthy of the title and it is a great pleasure for the jury and appoint Martin Myhre Olsen to NTNU Ambassador 2018/2019. “

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
