Drummer Martin (pronounced mar-TEEN) Urbach juxtaposes his Bolivian and Jewish roots with his experience as an immigrant in the United States to add color to his sophisticated jazz grooves.
Born on August 4th, 1982 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Martin discovered the drums at age 12. Shortly after, he began performing in the country’s top music venues and festivals. Upon finishing high school, Martin moved to New Orleans, LA to attend the music program at The University of New Orleans. During his five-year stint in the “Big Easy”, Martin performed with a “Who’s Who” of the music industry.

Willing to teach
Martin has lots of experience teaching music to children and adults alike. He has taught music and percussion classes in the New Orleans and New York Public School Systems. He also maintains a busy schedule teaching privately. He is a faculty at the iSchool of music and art and a faculty member member and counselor at the Manhattan School of Music Summer Camp.
In addition, Martin has experience teaching the very young ones, through the Music Together® program for toddlers and their caregivers.
