Matteo Mosolo Matteo Mosolo

Eccentric and versatile musician, curious and committed artist, always alerted to new things but also loving music history from jazz to rock, to classical music. Matteo Mosolo was born in 1985 and has begun to play and record in North Italy since 2001. Graduated in classical double bass at Conservatoio di Udine in 2011 he regularly collaborates with local orchestras and had the pleasure to play in Wien Musikverein with Japan Music Orchestra. He studied jazz double bass since 2008 improving his skills with Paolino Dalla Porta and attending masterclasses and workshops with Anto Pett, Francesco Bearzatti, Tristan Honsinger, Bebo Ferra and more. He plays with a lot of Friulan musicians and the most notably band is Humpty Duo with guitarist Luca Dal Sacco. Together they released three albums (“Acoustic Groove” 2011, “The Contest EP” 2012, “Synchronicities” released by Caligola Records in 2018) and played in big italian festivals such as Umbria Jazz 2012, Udine Jazz, Folkest, Candiani Groove, Jazz and Wine of Peace and more. In August 2020 it has been released for Caligola Records his first solo double bass album “Isolation”.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
