Maxime Moyaerts

Pianist and organist, Maxime Moyaerts is a rising figure in the Belgian jazz scene.

Maxime begins the piano at the age of 7. Always attracted by jazz, he first begins a classic piano formation in Andenne academy, then in the superior to the IMEP. Later, in 2010, still pushed by this passion for jazz, he entered the Royal Conservatory of Brussels to devote himself to it fully.

He will have the chance to be in Eric Legnini's class and, under his supervision for 5 years, he will develop his own game. His style unequivocally evokes his love for tradition and his heroes like Oscar Peterson, Wynton Kelly or Art Tatum.

He graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in 2016 with great distinction. Maxime has his own projects, including Maxime Moyaerts Trio where he demonstrates his talents as a musician but also of composer.

This trio takes its roots in the baby and the blues with the swing as a common thread. It immerses us in a universe starting from the blues, in its purest form, with lyrical compositions influenced by classical music. Maxime is also co-leader of BAM groups! Trio and oven of a kind.

The two groups enjoyed a residence at the Jazz Club sounds for several years. Four of a Kind has obtained numerous prizes including the jury and public prize, the XL Jazz Contest 2015 but also the Prix de Comblain Jazz and Gouvy Festival… Being an active figure of the Belgian jazz scene, Maxime is quickly noted by some renowned musicians.

Thanks to his versatility and his great knowledge of the tradition of jazz, he became a sideman very much in demand whether it be on the piano or the Hammond organ. He played in particular with Philip Catherine, Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, Fabrice Alleman, Bruno Castellucci, Bart Defoort, Guy Cabay,… To know the next Dates in concert by Maxime Moyaerts, do not hesitate to consult his website (taken up at the top of this page) and register for his newsletter
