Minnie Hill

Minnie Hill is a Melbourne based composer, arranger and saxophonist who is making her mark in the music scene as a talented and prolific writer. Minnie writes for both big band and smaller jazz ensembles and regularly leads sold out ensembles at the Paris Cat Jazz Club in Melbourne. Minnie has just recorded her debut big band album; 'The Remarkable Dave Brubeck', featuring Brubeck's compositions arranged for the 'Minnie Big Band'. This album is set to be released in mid-2021 and features some of Melbourne's best jazz musicians such as Jack Earle and Carlo Barbaro who will play the role of Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond for the album. A bonus track on the album features world renowned trombonist Marshall Gilkes.

In 2019 , Minnie's composition 'Silver's Swing' was selected as apart of the VCAA 'Top Sounds' concert, which took place at Iwaki Auditorium in Melbourne and showcased the top compositions in the state for VCE Music Style and Composition

As a performer, Minnie has regularly appeared as lead alto in the Jazz Melbourne Studio Youth Big Band. This has allowed her to play alongside international artists such as Rich DeRosa, Dick Oatts, Drew Zaremba, Jose Aponte and Tanya Darby.
