Album Description

New Angelo Mastronardi Project! Out on March 2021 M.O.B.A. is a musical project founded by the pianist and producer Angelo Mastronardi (piano, synth, fender rhodes) together with the beatmaker and producer Bonbooze (synth, drum machine) in 2018, in which different influences are placed: from jazz to neo soul, from fusion to 'hip hop. The duo in 2020 expanded into a quartet including the rhythm section formed by drummer Paolo Colazzo and bassist Paolo Romano. In this new project, producer Angelo Mastronardi seeks a new balance between the interplay of the acoustic piano trio and the tonal possibilities offered by electric instruments and synthesizers, and he does so starting from his compositions and then involving the musicians in a process of sharing. ideas. The result is a music that seamlessly blends writing and extemporaneousness. A research that goes further to redesign the idea of structure present in the songs and to bring together different languages in a new form. Ultimately an aesthetic manifesto of the GleAM label and its more cross-over and contemporary jazz editorial line.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
