Maurice Mo Egeston is a pianist, band leader and educator from St. Louis, Missouri. He spends his musical time leading bands and writing music while also working as a collaborative artist, accompanist and educator in both the classroom and private studio.
A longtime veteran of the St. Louis music scene, Mo currently leads Mo E All-Stars who released their debut album in 2017. He also hosts a weekly event called Late Nights Grooves @ Dark Room at the Grandel through his residency with the Kranzberg Arts Foundation. He first emerged as a band leader in the 1990s with regional favorites Vargas Swing. He later wrote and released music globally with the pioneering live electronic music project Urban Jazz Naturals and was a member of St. Louis based rock band Brothers Lazaroff from 2008-2014.
As a pianist Mo did his graduate studies at Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville) with Dr. Linda Perry. He currently runs his own Mo Egeston Piano Studio and is an instructor at Teipen Performing Arts. He has taught adjunct classes at area colleges and Universities in the St. Louis area since 1996.

Mo Egeston's Debut CD Was a Long Time Coming
As much as anyone, Maurice Mo E Egeston had an active role in creating the music culture of Washington Avenue in
the mid to late 1990s and early aughts. At the time, the club scene there was a rich mix — not perfect, of course, but
possessing both live music and DJ cultures, with a clientele that crossed a lot of demographic lines. For a handful of
years, on a handful of blocks, something special was happening on Wash Ave, with Egeston often onstage, working
behind the scenes or simply part of the audience.
These days, it's a different musical community downtown, but Egeston's still in the mix, though his view is largely that
of a resident, not a performer
