Murph Aucamp

Grammy nominated drummer/percussionist Murph Aucamp has proven himself as one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. From orchestral duties to leading salsa bands in his native South Florida, Murph has enjoyed the freedom that comes with being a diverse musician. He has toured internationally with trumpeter Brian Lynch, performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, and backed up an array of legends such as Quincy Jones, Julie Andrews, and John Williams. A graduate of the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, Murph has shared the stage with true Miami icons including Gloria Estefan, Jon Secada, and Michael Tilson Thomas' New World Symphony. His theater credits include an original production, Tectonic Theater Project's “Carmen: An Afro- Cuban Musical” with music by Arturo O'Farrill, as well as performing Off-Broadway in New York City's long running Blue Man Group production.

Murph is currently based in Miami and New York City.

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
