Jackie Messina

Jackie Messina was lured from success as a writer by the interactive creativity of jazz. She studied at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music with the late Enos Payne and honed improvisational and vocal skills with noted teachers Jay Clayton, Judy Niemack, and Amy London. Known for putting her stamp of originality on "not so standard standards," she has performed at 55 Bar, Smalls, and The Cupping Room Cafe. Necessary Arrangements, her first CD, now on CDBaby, features arrangements by Messina and Enos Payne.
