Antonio Loureiro

Antonio Loureiro never thought of doing anything other than music, as there is no other way. Son of musicians, at age 12 already performing gigs in Belo Horizonte, MG. He began to play the piano, but was left aside when he met the drums, his first instrument. He was reunited with the piano at the University of UFMG, in addition to having discovered the vibraphone, while studying classical percussion. At the age of 32, Loureiro is a respected composer and at the same time one of the most requested musicians in the current scene of Brazilian music. From jazz to popular music, the multi-instrumentalist and also singer, songwriter, arranger and producer has just released his third album, LIVRE (ybmusic). He began his professional career as a drummer, accompanying on tour around the world such as Toninho Horta, Chico Amaral, Juarez Moreira, among other admirers of the music produced in Minas Gerais, beyond the local border. In 2005, while expanding his repertoire as an instrumentalist, defining partnerships with artists, he began to exercise his compositional vein as well. To give vent to this new production, forms the band, Ramo. In 2010, he released his first self-titled album, with contributions by André Mehmari, Quinteto Sujeito a Guincho, Fabiana Cozza, Marcelo Pretto, and the French singer David Linx. This work toured through manny cities of France and Portugal even before touring in Brazil with the release show at Ibiraquera Auditorium in São Paulo. "Só", his second album, brings his music to Japanese audience. Through a long lasting partnership with NRT / Marítima, Antonio Loureiro goes through an essay in the country, launching in 2014 the record "Live in Tokyo ", With the realization of a new turn in 2015. In 2014, also launches the album Herz Loureiro, with the brazilian violinist Ricardo Herz, and in 2017, another duo album with the pianist and composer André Mehmari one of the most respected brazilian contemporary composers. It integrates a band of Siba as a keyboardist and drummer during five years(2011-2016). Is band member of one of the most important guitarrists in the world, Kurt Rosenwinkel, touring with him for the last two years around the world playing in the most important Jazz festivals in the world. Also plays drums with Cacá Machado, guitarist Pedro Martins.

For Antonio Loureiro, "Livre" is shaped by the participation of most of these partners mentioned above in his life and music and is about the social and political moment that we live now.
