Boaz Marva

Boaz Marva was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. He started his way in music at the age of 11, taking his first guitar lessons and learning classical pieces as well as Israeli pop songs and eventually Jazz. He progressed to study at The Charles E. Smith High School of Arts in Jerusalem, while starting his own projects and bands. After his military service in the military band, he continued to pursue a career in music and has played with Kivsus, Tamir Kedem, Hillel Reiner, Abrage, Scarcity, Mania D' Pressia and more while Studying in CJS Tel Aviv.

He then moved to New York to Study at The New School on a scholarship. He was mentored and studied with Sam Yahel, Reggie Workman, Doug Weiss, Dave Douglas and more, while joining DOR SAGI's band (former name SAGE) and starting his own projects Marva's Wondrous Whimsy, Bozzi Marva sings, and Boaz Marva Trio. He performs regularly around town with these and with other jazz musicians as a sideman.
