They are working on new CDs for a long time, giving the tracks time to mature, rarely releasing, just released their sixth album Balkantron and it still exceeds the high expectations, some may miss the dirt that many people find but anyone who wants to hear artistically sublimated and urbanized Balkan music in immaculate quality is in the right place with "Balkantron". Their current album "BalkanTron" inspires by the skill with which the artists combine traditional and ethnic music with improvisation and jazz elements. The great voice of singer Anna Klebus is reminiscent of the Bulgarian Voices with their spectacular timbres. The virtuosity with which the instruments are played, from clarinet, bagpipe, to accordion and gadulka, also creates a wonderful atmosphere, enriched with the cultural diversity of Occident and Orient. Sarakina’s concerts should be attended by Balkan music fans as well as those who are not so keen on this kind of music. The former would hear their favourite music played in sophisticated, subtle arrangements. The latter would learn that, in opposition to the junk, brazen TV productions, the production related to the Balkan roots can be beautiful and intelligent. Again I’m impressed by the fine craftsmanship of the musicians. They paint beautiful landscapes with their instruments and have the gift of putting emotion in their play.
