Scott Black

Jazz cornet player. I've been touring with Leon Redbone for 25 years. Also many trad & swing bands as well. Monday nights at Arthur's Tavern in Greenwich Village when I'm not on the road. Just started a CD company, releasing unissued old acetates of broadcasts with Bunny Berigan, and many sides from New Orleans 1942-52. Having fun doing this, and lots of collectors seem happy about it. www.Kazoolips.com I still enjoy the road after all of these years, and get restless when I'm not out there. Made a ton of albums over the years and don't have most of them. I'm working on a book about Bix Beiderbecke. Over 500 pages so far, and half-way done. It's all in the words of those who really knew him. Taken from 50 years research done by my late good friend Phil Evans, whom I helped for the last 20 years before his death. Transcribing between 600-700 hours of reel-to-reel tapes going back to 1952, as well as over 3000 letters. Only way to finally get the truth out about the guy. Just about everything that you think you know about him is wrong! Still a few folks out there who don't want this info to come out! Tough. Not that it casts Bix in a bad light, it just exposes quite a few people as frauds and thieves. More later.
