Nathan Peck-

Nathan came from a family of musicians consisting of his mother a vocalist and drummer; father, a pianistand avid composer; as well as his brother a talented drummer and singer. He received his early musical influences from the womb as his parents gigged almost until he was born! He also attended many live gigs growing up outside of Pittsburgh, PAandstarted music on piano at age 9 and played clarinet and baritonesaxophone injr. highschool band before picking up the  electric bassin 1991.A year later he began studying upright bassand at age 16 he won the Milt Hinton Award, a scholarship for students of the  Double Bass. He also received honorable mentions from the N.E.A. and performed at the  International Duke Ellington Conference while in high school.

Nathan began playing professionally with his parents Skip & Donna in late 1992 and quickly gained a vast knowledge of jazz and American classic song repertiore and most importantly, learned how to play bass in a band, a family band at that! After a few years of gigs, "The Skip Peck Trio" became a quartet with addition of the youngest Peck, Alexander on drums and from 1994-2002 Nathan performed regularly with his family which at times also included his father's brothers; John Peck on drums and Jamie Peck on Saxophones. John Peck passed away in 2008 from cancer. He was a super rocking, fat beat hitting, funky, and exciting drummer. He is sadly missed. In 1999 Mr. Peck toured the US and Asia with the great Maynard Ferguson Big Bop Nouveau Band which included a command performance in Bankok for the king of Thailand, King Bhumibol Adulyadej.  Interesting fact #278; Nathan Peck has performed in 20 Pennsylvania State Correctional Facilities.  In 2002 Nathan relocated to New York City and has since had the  privilege to perform with Mark Murphy, Maria Muldaur, Bonnie Tyler, Vernon Reed, Howard Fishman, James Wlliams, Ralf Lalama, Gino Sitson, Lafayette Harris, Eteinne Charles, Roy Campbell, Jonathan Kreisberg,  Bruce Cox, Allison Miller, Ari Hoenig, and is currently touring and recording  with guitarist Alex Skolnick.
