Omar Pazols Barrera, born in Santiago in 1956, from 1971 to 1973 studied interpreter in percussion at the Conservatory of the University of Chile, during 1970-1974 he joined groups” Largo Camino”, with pianist Eduardo Campos, later he joined Millantún, with Aldunate brothers then pianist Pedro Muñoz invites you to participate in the "Luna Llena” project with Patricio and Carlos Vera. In 1999 he founded the project "EGP Estudio" for the purpose of promoting the musical arts in Chile through the realization of musical productions. Among the bands and Chilean musicians who have recorded in EGP, stand Alejandro Espinoza, Felipe Chacón, Carla Romero, Panchito Cabrera, Santiago Hot Club, and Voodoo Funk from Argentina. In 2000, he founded the “SUR”, Rodrigo Ratier in Piano, and Willy Pino on bass, the trio involved in all stages of jazz successfully participates in jazz festivals and tours throughout Argentina. This long work SUR plate is Latin jazz fusion, with the participation of Jorge Almonacid percussion, violin Hugo Rojas and Cristina Galvez in voice. Since 2006, is the drummer of “Alhue Jazz Band”, Big Band consists of ten musicians. In 2007, start Sour Jazz Quartet with pianist Enrique Hossiason. In 2009 with Willy Pino creates Deep Orange, with Juan Ricardo Romero on piano, Claudio Hecht on sax and Leonardo Lopez on percussion. Since 2010 he is the drummer of Daikiri Jazz Band, with Edgardo Cruz on bass and Eugenio on guitar. In 2012 with the young pianist Christian Fuentes and the bassist Jose Santibañez, creates the trio to be called Christian Fuentes Trio, developing own arrangements of standard themes. Since 2012, he is the director of jazz of “Instituto Chileno Norteamericano de Cultura, uncharged of the cycle Jazz on Thursday Cheese & Wine, with sponsored by the US Embassy.
