Travis Spencer

Currently residing in Orlando, Florida. Travis Spencer is a Funk-Jazz/Fusion Pianist, Composer, Arranger, and Multi Instrumentalist. He began picking out melodies at 8 years old, fond of old 78's Big Band records. He listened to that style of music everyday. Travis comes from a musical family. His father a Bassist and Singer gave the foundation of what real Soul and R&B music was. The record collection consisted of Earth, Wind, & Fire, Parliment Funkadelic, Brothers Johnson, etc..etc.His mother played Classical Piano for years.Travis started performing at school functions at 12 playing at the beginning of programs while people entered. By 15 he was performing in Nite Clubs as a solo act. At this point he used to sit in with various bands that greeted him with "Yeah right kid what would you like to play?" he would smile and say Chick Correa's "Electric City" or Ahmad Jamal's "Solo 11" jaws dropped when he counted off. Fusion was introduced to him and he was instantly addicted. Travis writes in the manner of his influences which consist of: Chick Correa, Wayne Shorter, Yellowjackets, Marcus Miller, Joe Sample, George Duke, Bobby Lyle, Miles Davis, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Stevie Wonder, & Prince. Pushing for a Record Deal for years only to land a few bad ones that resulted in no album being recorded. Travis contiued to produce local and regional artist in the neigborhood for free to develop them and his production skills. Finally he co produced a remix with friend Allen "Allstar" Gordon jr. on female vocal trio SWV's "Downtown" jazzy and hip-hop remixes which went triple platinum. They collabed on a few more projects before going seperate ways. Finally after a decade of blood sweat and tears, Travis Spencer emerges with debut album "Lunar Paradise" August 2005 on Indie Label created by his songwritting partner for the last 13 years. He covers a super wide range of genres that you won't catch in his solo work eventhough his projects are highly imaginitive. Now the sophmore album "It's In Our Hands" is almost a wrap and ready for release May 2007. Travis will be touring this time around in the states and overseas where the project started selling. He's putting some studio projects on hold or recording them on the road.
