Casey Dodd

Casey Dodd was born March 19th, 1986 in Satellite Beach, Florida. He began playing Drums when he was 10 years old and quickly began playing along to the radio and old Vinyl records. Casey's first introduction to Jazz was in high school when he joined Satellite High School's Zero Hour Jazz Ensemble. A few years later, Casey and the Jazz Ensemble performed at the University of North Texas Jazz Festival in Denton, Texas. This experience cemented his love for jazz and influenced his decision to attend the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.

While at UNF, Casey studied Percussion with Charlotte Mabrey and was an active performer in Jacksonville. During his 4-year stay at UNF, Casey performed as a member of the UNF Jazz Ensemble One, UNF Percussion Ensemble, UNF Chorale, UNF Jazz Combos, UNF Orchestra and UNF Wind Ensemble. As a member of the UNF Jazz Ensemble One, Casey performed and recorded with legendary artists such as Medeski, Martin and Wood, Bill Watrous, Slide Hampton, Claudio Roditi and Bunky Green and toured China with the band in the summer of 2005.

Casey's other notable performances include a 10-day concert tour of Portugal with the UNF Chorale and a performance at Carnegie Hall with the UNF Wind Ensemble where he was a featured soloist. Casey is currently relocating to New York City where he will be a freelance musician.
