Tim Lowerson

Tim Lowerson is a British saxophonist and composer resident in Oslo, Norway. Together with long time collaborator Ture Ringereide, he has led and written for several jazz ensembles, notably the Sounds of the Unexpected (active from 2006 to 2012 and also known as SOTU) and more recently Lucky Novak (from 2012 onwards). The music in these groups is an amalgam of old and modern jazz styles, with elements of ska, folk and free improvisation thrown in and often characterised by unusual arrangements and alternative time signatures.
