Lindsey Buckingham: Gift Of Screws

Read "Gift Of Screws" reviewed by Mike Perciaccante

On his sixth solo album, Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham continues his string of releases featuring slick, crisp, sophisticated wry lyrics. Unlike his last studio effort, the acoustic-based Under the Skin (Reprise 2006), Gift Of Screws features incendiary electric guitar layered over minor chords with many of the signature grooves that Buckingham (and Fleetwood Mac) built his reputation on.

Though not the balls-to-wall, electric, all-out rock record he promised would follow Under The Skin, Gift Of Screws is nonetheless ...

Lindsey Buckingham - Seeds We Sow (2011)

Lindsey Buckingham - Seeds We Sow (2011)

Source: Something Else!

You keep waiting for Lindsey Buckingham, the old rebel, to soften into middle-aged acceptance, to conform. This isn't that record. Credit Buckingham for never trading true emotion for sentiment. Seeds We Sow is as hard eyed as it is musically ambitious—beginning with its abruptly confessional album-opening title track. “In Our Own Time" follows, as Buckingham reminisces about a lost love amidst an almost mathematical cascade. “This time I think she's gone for good," Buckingham says, then adds: “But I never ...

Something Else! Sneak Peek: Lindsey Buckingham, "Seeds We Sow" (2011)

"Seeds We Sow," the title track to Lindsey Buckingham's sixth solo album, due on Sept. 6, is a darkly introspective triumph—as mysterious and challenging as anything in his often mysterious and challenging career. Sounding a little grayer, a little quieter, this isn't the gruffly sexual Buckingham of “Big Love," or the angry backtalker of “Go Your Own Way," or even the frisky rabble-rouser of “Trouble." Yet the challenges, and the beauty, of Buckingham's music are still there. Recording alone, and ...

Lindsey Buckingham :: 10.19.08 :: Nokia Theatre :: New York, NY

Lindsey Buckingham :: 10.18 :: PA The Nokia Theatre stood quiet and almost still. The usual open floor was packed with assigned seating in an effort towards elegance and intimacy. White wine flowed instead of the usual hand rolled joints, and security was tight. No dancing, no standing and no camera phone picture taking. ...

Lindsey Buckingham If he'd done nothing else outside of Fleetwood Mac people would know the name Lindsey Buckingham. As guitarist, singer and songwriter with that band since the mid '70s, he's been responsible for a good deal of their world wide success, including contributing heavily to the era defining, 30 million-plus selling Rumours, where he wrote three of the most recognizable pop hits of all-time ...
