Frederick E Scott

I'm a percussionist and pianist and have been studying music for many years. God has given me the gift to sing a little bit. And the compassion to learn. I,am setting up a page to share my music with you. I hope you will enjoy, and appreciate it. I have payed a lot of dues over the years playing music.

Q:Tell us about your act, music style, and brief history, including band members and what instruments they play.

A: Mostly I perform Jazz and Blues standards, and songs I have written. I play piano and sing. My son is on drums (his name is the same as mine). Fred Is pretty sharp at learning rhythms. I am also a percussionist so I can Help him out. Vince Bachman has been playing bass with us for last few years. Over the years I have worked with many of Detroit's top musicians

Q:What have been some important gigs or venues you've played?

A: The coolest gig for me was opening up For Tito Puente at Detroit's Chene Park. I have played most of the venues in Detroit, with either jazz or blues bands.

Q: What are the names and release dates of your previous recordings?

A: 1963 was my first 45( Drum Boogie)."I am on Dreams Of A Love Supreme" (1979), By Detroit Sax Master Wendel Harrison.With My group Easy Doesit, I Released El Lobo ( 1968) And Tropicool (1987). I have worked and recorded with Motor City blues greats Mr Bo ( Luis Collins ), Bobo Jenkens, Willie D Warren , And Sweet Claudett. I put out Good Times and Bad In (1997). I was in Roy Brooks aboriginal percussion choir.And charlie Banisters Detroit drum ensemble.

Q: What are you working on now?

A: With our Cool Mood Trio We have just released our CD Soul Portraits . And thanks to Radio Derect X, We are getting air play all over the world and getting Great reviews.

Q: What kind of people or opportunities are you hoping to find on Berkleemusic?

A: I have been struggling in the music bussiness for 40 years. I am getting tired. I know if people heard my music thay would enjoy it. And I am mostly a self taught Musician. One of My dreams in life was to go to the Berklee School Of Music. May be some day I will be able to afford it. If nothing else, To be affiliated with you means a lot to me.
