Scott Marischen

Scott Marischen is a seasoned professional full time live, studio, solo, group and event musician. He plays the electric and acoustic harps, and electric and acoustic guitar. He writes, reads and transcribes music.

Based in South Florida, Scott has been performing in and around the state of Florida and around the country for over 35 years. He can play any music style from Classical, Jazz, Rock, Blues, R&B, Pop, Disco, Reggae, World and more.

Scott was born in Marathon Florida, part of the Florida Keys and raised by immigrant parents who seldom wore clothes and worshiped the sun. There he learned the ways of the ocean, fishing and making bamboo instruments... selling them to unsuspecting tourists. In this way he learned the wondrous talent of mesmerizing an audience. He started plucking away on homemade harps made of palm fronds and coconut fiber, where people would come from all over the globe to hear this young wonder play! Word spread throughout the lands and his parents knew they had something special. They sold all of their conch shells and fishing nets to send him to the Saint Eustacia School of Music where he sacrificed his dread locks to the volcano god of the island, and solidified his conceptual idea of Jazz. Returning home to take care of his aging immigrant family, he has remained in the South Florida area accumulating over 35 years of experience playing as a professional musician. He plays full time in a variety of capacities, from solo performances to duos, trios and larger groups. Acoustic and electric, harp and guitar, coconuts and trash cans... he keeps himself busy and sustains his business playing, writing, recording and transcribing music full time, balancing reality and mysticism in an effort to appear normal.
