Marco Bolfelli

Marco Bolfelli is an Italian guitarist and composer.

After completing his conservatory studies in Italy, in 2015 he moved to Boston to attend Berklee College Of Music on a scholarship, graduating Summa Cum Laude by the following year.

His first release Streamflow (2014), featuring ECM recording artist Klaus Gesing on reeds, was reviewed as “a hugely impressive and satisfying affair” by All About Jazz and “a very rewarding listening experience” by Jazz Times.

Since moving to New York in 2017, he has played with a diverse number of artists, such as the late jazz vocalist Marlene VerPlanck, and Ghanaian musician and film director Blitz The Ambassador.

Zac Carson: Something from Before

Read "Something from Before" reviewed by Geno Thackara

While Something from Before is an affair rooted in the immediate past--Zac Carson's pieces are based on snapshots of his own life from the preceding few years, and it was made just at the end of the pre-pandemic world--it is not limited to that “before" by any means. Marco Bolfelli Trio: Streamflow

Read "Streamflow" reviewed by Budd Kopman

Streamflow is a very strong debut recording from guitarist Marco Bolfelli and his almost telepathic trio partners Simone Serafini on bass and Igor Checchini on drums. His music has soft edges even when his guitar sound enters the overdriven zone. ...

Read "Streamflow" reviewed by Roger Farbey

On “Nekar" the trio is joined by guest Klaus Gesing ...
