Nbtno

NBTNO were formed while founder members Chris Miles (guitar) and Pat Shaw (alto sax) were still studying at Clarendon College Nottingham. Their debut album was recorded and produced as part of Chris’ final year at Derby University and makes innovative use of the studio as the ‘fifth member of the band’. The current line up includes father and son rhythm section Pete Nightingale (drums) and Mark Nightingale (bass). They play powerful contemporary jazz with a strong melodic slant and have been described as “…the British equivalent to Lalo Schifrin” and "contemporary electric jazz without falling into the fusion straitjacket". Their dynamic live shows have earned them the reputation of being Nottingham’s finest power jazz quartet and they have had successful headlining slots at the Buxton Fringe Festival in 2004 and 2005.
