Nick Nightingale

Nick Nightingale is an American guitarist and composer whose work drifts between experimental music, modern composition and minimalism.

Nick started creating original soundtracks to films as an experiment in 2006. He also began composing under the alias Nick Nightingale, named after the piano player in Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut. After releasing several alternative and post-punk records from 2008-2012, he studied jazz, minimalism and modern composition extensively.

Influenced equally by cinema and music, his latest work focuses on combining electric guitar melodies with ambient soundscapes. Nick’s compositions have been featured on the Spy FM, Beach Sloth and Textura.

Beach Sloth describes Nick’s 2017 release Ambient Guitar Works – “With only a few minute details Nick Nightingale creates an emotionally engaging universe, one that adapts drones and melody with equal vigor. Tactile with its small touches, every single element becomes fully magnified in its rather soothing take. A late night blissful presence comes to sculpt the entirety of the album, while pieces feel akin to reflections in a shimmering pool of water.”
