Nick Rundle

Named by Jazzwise Magazine as one to watch in 2012, Nick Rundle is a professional contemporary saxophonist currently based in Birmingham, England. Nick has been busy on the Birmingham scene for the last few years, building a reputation for a high level of musicianship and artistry. Recently his exploits have led him to play at local venues such as Symphony Hall, MAC, CBSO Centre, Hare and Hounds and The Yardbird as well as the Birmingham, London, Cheltenham and Manchester Jazz Festivals.

Nick is a member of Sid Peacock’s Surge, both in large ensemble and sax quartet form. Sid’s latest album “La Fete” includes Nick on Baritone and is available to purchase here: http://www.peacockangell.com/shop. Sid’s music was recently recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3, with the sax quartet album due for release in the near future.

Nick also plays in Jonathan Silk’s quartet. Jonathan was recently awarded a Yamaha Jazz Prize for Outstanding Musicianship and his quartet can be heard on the cover CD accompanying Jazzwise Magazine December 2011. You can find out more about Jonathan here: http://www.jonathansilk.co.uk/home.html

Nick also acts as a sideman in funk/hip hop bands such as Cantaloop, B’Spoke and SoulVibeTrain. This has allowed him to play at festivals including Glastonbury, Shambala, WOMAD, Limetree etc
