Education: Graduated from Ribe Katedralskole 1998 Qualified to enter the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen in 2000 Master degree from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen in 2005. Studies in New York, 2005 and 2006

Niels Lyhne Lokkegaard has worked with: Hank Jones, Chris Cheek, Kluvers Bigband Johannes Enders, DR-Bigband, Cecilie Nordby, EBU Bigband, JazzBaltica ensemble, Django Bates, The Tivoli Bigband, Copenhagen Art Ensemble, Borderline ensemble, Im Beruf, Lars Danielson, Donny McCaslin, Michael Wolny and many others.


1995 1. prize in the Belingske tidendes talent competition 2004 1. prize in the Danish jazz competition ”Young Jazz comets in Denmark” 2005 1. Prize in the European jazz competition Jazzstruggle in Poland 2006 Receives prize from the Léonie Sonning Music foundation 2007 1. Prize in the DPA Jazzcomposer competition 2008 1. Prize from the Danish Art Foundation for the album “Light Airborne” 2008 Recieves 1 Grammy and is nominted for 3 at the Danish Music Awards for the album “Light Airborne”
