Album Description

Nine Moments of Time Is the second release as a leader by Toronto composer and saxophonist Scott Marshall. Recorded masterfully by Jim Morgan at Acrobat Music and performed by the outstanding Scott Marshall Quartet, featuring Scott on soprano and tenor saxophones, Wes Neal on acoustic bass, Marcel Aucoin on a Steinway grand piano, and Nick Fraser on drums. Nine Moments of Time features eight beautiful compositions by Scott Marshall and one by pianist Marcel Aucoin. Each composition is completely differnt, ranging from hard driving swingers, strait ahead laid back blues, and lush ballads, to quirky modal vamps and a beautiful hymn. This CD is a wonderful listen for both the ardent jazz fan and the casual listener, full of sensual grooves, beautiful melodies, and astute improvisations!
