Nostalgia 77

The Nostalgia 77 Octet is the band which grew out of the Nostalgia 77 Studio recordings. The Octet now writes and performs it's own new music too.

The Octet are a group dedicated to the persuit of mysterious sounds and rhythms. They play swinging cosmic music. It sounds and feels good and at the shows eveyone likes it from little babies to old men.

The band are Graham Fox - Drums, Riaan Vosloo - Bass, Ben Lamdin - Guitar, Ross Stanley - Pianos, Tom Allan - Trumpet, Trevor Mires - Trombone, Jonny Spall - Alto, Mark Hanslip - Tenor, Lizzy Parks - singing.

About Everything Under The Sun

The new Nostalgia 77 LP is now out. Everything Under The Sun blends a mixture of signiture Nostalgia instrumentals with a collection of songs performed by Lizzy Parks & Beth Rowley.

The LP is released in partnership by Tru Thoughts Records in the UK & Ubiquity in the USA. Thanks to everyone whose written to say they like the songs they've heard already - I hope you enjoy the rest of the record too.

Everything Under The Sun follows hot on the heels of the Nostalgia Octet LP Borderlands which I released last year. I'm happy to say that this won the BBC Worldwide award for best Jazz LP of 2006. Thanks to all the BBC listeners who voted. Everyone in the band is glad you liked the record.

Thanks for visiting and checking out the music. You can listen to some music on the myspace page and please let me know what you think!

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
