Album Description

This 20 piece brass band from New York City mixes up Balkan, New Orleans, Bollywood Brass, Mingus, and NYC punk grooves to create a unique cacophony of sound that is sure to delight.

Brooklyn's own brass band self-produced CD has arrived! Just in time for those heated days of passion, for the ice has melted and the thaw has come. Enjoy these HMB tunes as you seduce your beloved or clean the house. We've got it all, original tunes by our own phat cats, old school European brass, New Orleans 2nd line, Jazz, Punk, Klezmer, India Street, Latin flava, hiphop beats, the music of the streets. We are the music of the people!

The CD dedicated to our slice of home turf. carved out of the embattled vacant lot fondly referred to as "The People's Park", along the East River that currently is surrounded by fencing and a big lock awaiting its fate. Cover art by the acclaimed LES activist artist FLY.

The Hungry March Band is a 20-piece community based, award-winning Brass March Band and Color. Yo! Saving the Fire Houses, playing for the dogs, freeing the gardens, makin room for the bikes, the freaks, the wild and the meek; on the Staten Island Ferry, the subways, Brighton Beach Boardwalks, the steps of the NYC Post Office and fine institutions of culture including Lincoln Center, MOMA and MSG. We are a parade, a party, a blazing entity of flesh, blood, steel, brass and wood.
