Album Description

An album that aspires to helping the listener become unstuck with music that inspires to keep moving on and pressing on. Moving forward on one's "pathway" can take many forms as long as one stays on the straight path. Ascending, transmigrating, going on a pilgrimage or voyage, or seeking one's balance and truth on a quest or walkabout. These original compositions and solo piano performances by Andy Wasserman exemplify his unique approach to expressing the sound of a beautiful grand piano. Performed live on a 1924 Steinway Model "M" Classic Grand, this collection of newly recorded original solo piano compositions, arrangements and improvisations showcase Andy Wasserman's signature sound, combining an expressive piano touch with an impressive technique. They showcase the unique interpretations his own, unique piano style merges rhythmic invention and elegant harmonies, standing as a living tribute to the tradition of virtuoso elegance, past and present. Andy has been giving piano lessons online since 2010, and specializes in sharing George Russell's Lydian Chromatic Concept. Much of the music on this album presents both the vertical and horizontal balance within the art and science of tonal gravity, the heart of the LCCOTO. Musical Artist, pianist, composer and music educator Andy Wasserman is the composer, arranger, performer, producer and recording engineer on all tracks.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
