Brisa Nova is the combination of two unique and varied talents who share a passion for music that they love to share with their audience. Influenced by their love of bossa nova and jazz, they decided to create a sound that would reflect the warm and breezy Brazilian feel they both love so much. Everything they perform gets “bossa-fied” and even some classic standards come back with a bossa nova rhythm and style.

Tracy Benson began performing back in high school, when she used to sit in the locker room to sing and play her guitar because she liked the acoustics. After a while, people started to gather and she realized she might be on to something! Music and songwriting quickly became the focus of her life and she began her musical career. She has an eclectic resume, which includes working as a lead vocalist/performer for Sea World San Diego touring with their road show, as well as recording character voices and vocals for various shows at the Park. She has also written and sung commercial jingles and performed with various bands throughout San Diego. After taking a detour into the corporate health industry and business world, Tracy is thrilled to be back doing what she loves best. Music has always been her main passion and joy.

Patrick Lockwood is an accomplished songwriter, arranger, and musician. One of the greatest musical influences on Patrick was Tom Jobim, though he also credits Joao Gilberto and Sergio Mendez

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
