Paul Edis

Paul Edis is a pianist and composer who has toured the UK playing at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals. He has performed alongside Jon Faddis, Greg Abate, Tim Garland, Iain Ballamy and Alan Barnes. He has released three albums of his own compositions to date, including There Will Be Time (2012), Not Like Me (2013) and Mr Hipster (2014).

Credentials/Background

PhD, MA, Bmus (Hons) Paul has proven his ability and passion as an educator in both group and one to one teaching situations. He currently teaches a module in Aural Perception at York University, he is a jazz piano tutor for the Sage Gateshead 'Young Musician Program' as well as giving private lessons to pupils of all ability and ages, including students from Durham University. He has been a woodwind and keyboard peripatetic tutor for Sunderland Council for over 4 years, he has worked for Gateshead, Durham and Northampton Councils giving workshops on Composition for pop music, silent films, singing and performance technique.
