Originally from Connecticut, Paul began playing in local clubs while still in high school and opened shows for music legends Bo Diddley, Fats Domino and Jerry Lee Lewis. After graduating, he pursued a degree in Music Education at the University of Connecticut, then transferred to the Berklee College of Music in Boston to study Music Performance.

Paul studied privately with Mike Mangini (Pearl Drum Clinician, Dream Theater), Joe Pet (The Joe Perry Project) and Skip Hadden (Weather Report) and continued working throughout New England until becoming house drummer at the infamous Dick’s Last Resort from 1994-2000.

He was a founding member of Darling Picassos (1995), The Rob Gonzalez Band (1998) and The Trick Wallace Trio (2005). Paul has toured the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest, enjoyed radio success (CMJ’s Top 200), done TV & radio performances and opened for artists such as The Gin Blossoms, Letters to Cleo, Jessica Simpson, Colin Raye, Matt Schofield and Kofi Baker.

In 2017, Paul joined acid blues band Bees Deluxe and continues to take on independent work when scheduling allows. Notable projects include recording with guitarist Conrad Warre and recording guitarist Trick Wallace’s upcoming release.
