Trumpeter & vocalist Paul St-Amand has earned raves for his lyrical sound and understated yet expressive singing voice. With his band Blue Spirits, he received a 2017 Music Nova Scotia Award nomination for Jazz Recording of the Year for the album 'Liquid Courage'. He regularly fronts a rotating duo/trio/quartet featuring some of the region's finest jazz musicians, and he's a member of the popular Latin ensemble Son Latino. Also an accomplished classical trumpeter, Paul is principal trumpet for the orchestra Nova Sinfonia, and a founding member of the Bedford Brass Quintet. In 2018, his original brass composition 'The Eagle and Shield' was chosen as Dalhousie University's official bicentennial anthem.
