Pianist/composer/arranger Phil Orr has toured and performed with popular singers Vic Damone and Sandler & Young, Grammy Award-winners singer-songwriter Diane Scanlon and Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra composer/leader Arturo O’Farrill, and a host of eminent others. His performances, compositions and programming shape his broad experience in jazz, classical, pop, R&B and rock idioms into sound experiences that draw audiences to his love of diverse repertoire, styles and eras. Solo concerts such as Phil Orr Plays a Mean Jazz Piano, The Song Is You, and The First Century of Jazz at the Piano complement work with his trio, Phil Orr & More, and lasting associations clarinetist Jerry Rife and Steve Hiltner’s Sustainable Jazz Ensemble. Since 2013 he has partnered with the colorful and iconic sculptor J. Seward Johnson in weekly sing- alongs at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ, for visitors from around the world. Orr’s critically awarded choral and instrumental works have been performed in more than 150 venues internationally.
