PSYCHAUDIO

Psychaudio is a renegade music collective based in New York City. Lead by Omercan Sakar on drums and Martin Seiler on Saxophone, Psychaudio implements experimental electronics into their acoustic setup of Trumpet, Saxophone, Piano, Bass, and Drums.

Their signature sound, dark and brooding as the bowels of a city at night that is in fact anything but asleep, reflects the real New York as well as the personalities of each of the band members. Caleb McMahon on trumpet, Eva Lawitts on bass, and the pianist Vladan Mijatovic comprise the band’s line up of NYC’s forefront music pioneers along with Martin and Omer.

Their debut album, Connect, contains original compositions shaped by late night gigs at Nublu, a legendary New York underground venue. It’s a mirror of the city, the musicians, and where art is headed.

An acoustic and electronic display of New York as well as the world, Connect came out of the five musicians involved, and outgrew the sum of it’s parts: Eva Lawitts, a Brooklyn native and lifetime New Yorker. Martin Seiler, born and raised in Germany, one of Europe’s highly acclaimed Jazz Saxophonists. Omercan Sakar, drummer from Turkey, an experimental entrepreneur in music, a Brooklynite for a decade.. Caleb McMahon from Saint Paul, Minnesota, NYC’s wild card on Trumpet and Electronics. And Vladan Mijatovic, a Carnegie Hall performing Pianist and virtuoso sound designer from Serbia.

Between those five musicians in Psychaudio, a storm brewed up that was captured on tape, and is being released into the world on their debut album Connect.

The lineup is that of a conventional jazz group, a double-horn frontline and bass/drums rhythm section anchored by piano in between. They're also willing to get somewhat wild, though, ...
