Rina Yamazaki

Rina is a jazz piano player and composer originally from Saitama, Japan. She is currently based in New York City. After studying at Kunitachi College of Music in Japan she was awarded a full scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Rina’s achievements include second place winner along with the Nu Jazz Agency’s Chico & Lupe O’Farrill Award for Best Original Composition during the Ellis Marsalis International Jazz Piano Competition 2018. She also won third place in the 7 virtual jazz club 2018 competition. She was nominated as “Jazz Artist of the year” by Boston Music Awards 2018. Rina has played as a keyboardist on in The Late Show with Stephan Colbert as part of Jonathan Batiste’s Stay Human. Rina also had the opportunity to tour in Europe, US and Japan with highlights in venues such as Smalls Jazz Club, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola and Smoke Jazz Club in New York City.
