Roberto Esposito

He was born in Tricase (Salento) in 1984. In 2008 he graduated with honors from the Conservatory A. Boito (Parma) where, at the same time, he attended the three-year course of Jazz music under the Maestro R. Bonati's guidance. In 2008 he continued his studies in Hungary under the Maestro Zoltan Szigmond' direction. Back in Italy he attended two years of specialization in piano repertoire under the leadership of Maestro Roberto Cappello, graduating with first class honours and Examining board's acclaim by performing in duo, with the same Maestro Cappello, the " 4th Rachmaninoff's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra" and the "Concerto in F" by Gershwin. Winner of contests in the classic (2008) and jazz, (Torino 2009 Sound Crossings – Prize for best pianist) he performs regular concert activities. In 2009 he won a scholarship to the Berklee College in Boston. Thanks to its extensive training, he devoted himself to composition performing frequently, in concert programmes, some of his original pieces. It's imminent the publication of his debut album as a composer titled THE DECADES. The album consists of 10 original tracks piano solo, with the exception of the piece Kalinifta, taken from folk tradition of Salento. The compositions highlight both references to the folk music of southern Italy (pizzica, taranta), mediated by a jazz improvisation language, and to compositional and formal classic patterns such as impromptus, studies, fantasias, rhapsodies. © Workin' Label/ IRD distribution
